Okay, here’s my blog post about the “$20 Liquor” experiment:
So, I had this idea the other day. Could I actually find some decent booze for around 20 bucks? I mean, we all know the cheap stuff can be… rough. But I was curious if there were any hidden gems out there. I decided to put it to the test.

The Mission Begins
First, I hit up my local liquor store. I wasn’t expecting miracles, mind you. I was fully prepared for some questionable labels and plastic bottles. I walked the aisles, scanning the bottom shelves – that’s usually where the budget-friendly options hide.
- Rule number one: Avoid anything that looks like it could double as paint thinner.
- Rule number two: Don’t be afraid of the unknown. Some of the best finds are the ones you’ve never heard of.
- Rule number three: Stick around 20 dollar, give or take a buck or two.
The Contenders
I grabbed a few bottles that seemed promising. A bottle of rum, always good to get some * were a couple of others, a vodka and a whiskey, that caught my eye, mainly because the labels weren’t totally embarrassing.
The Taste Test
Back home, it was time for the real test. I lined up the bottles, got myself on the sofa.
First up, the rum. I mixed a little drink, took a sip.
The vodka was next. Straight up, because why not?
I poured a small glass of the whiskey. It was… surprisingly smooth. A bit of a caramel flavor, not too harsh.

The Verdict
Honestly? This little experiment turned out better than I expected.I wouldn’t say any of these were top-shelf, but they were definitely drinkable.
So, the next time you’re on a budget, don’t automatically reach for the most expensive bottle. You might be surprised at what you can find for around 20 bucks. Just be prepared to do a little exploring, and maybe have a glass of water handy, just in case!
