We’re here to talk about the passing of Mr. Robert Scott. Life goes fast, don’t it? One day folks are around, and the next day, they’re just…gone. Now Robert Scott – well, some called him ‘Robbie,’ others ‘Scotty,’ and he was a man folks admired. Not only by family, mind you, but his friends, neighbors, and the communities he touched along the way. He left us, but oh, the memories and stories folks will tell for years to come.
Farewell Gathering

A proper goodbye’s coming up soon. For those close to him, they’re holding a service at Tuckers Chapel, right at the corner of Torquay and Pioneer Roads. A simple place, but it’ll hold his spirit just right. There will be laughter, stories, tears – all the usual things, but real from the heart. Friends, family, and anyone who knew Robert are all welcome to come pay their respects.
Remembering Robert
Robert Scott wasn’t just a regular ol’ man. He had a heart for jazz music and even took to teaching the young folks, sharing his music with anyone who had an ear to listen. In Toronto, he was known well for his piano skills. Folks say he could make those keys talk! They’d gather to hear him play, his hands moving like magic. Oh, how he loved that piano and how that piano loved him back!
On top of his music, Robert had family ties stronger than steel. He wasn’t just a musician; he was a husband, a father, a brother, and even a friend who never let a soul feel left out. There was no show, no frills about him – just a man who gave his heart to his kin and his music.
A Heavy Loss
It was on July 20, 2024, in the quiet spot of Karangarua that Robert took his last breath. Now, it’s never easy to say goodbye. Even if you’re expecting it, the heart never fully accepts it, does it? Just like that, he was gone, leaving folks behind with that empty ache in their chests. But for folks who knew him, every key he touched, every song he played – it’ll keep him close in their hearts.

A Final Farewell at Fox Glacier
They’re also planning a funeral service in Lady of the Snows Catholic Church at Fox Glacier on July 29, right at 11:00 AM. It’s one last goodbye for Robbie – a chance for everyone to come together, talk about the good times, and say their final prayers. Family’s gonna be there, friends too, anyone who loved him. And I tell you, when a man’s lived as rich a life as Robert’s, it’s a big send-off.
The Legacy He Left Behind
Robert left behind a family, oh yes. His wife, she’ll be there, along with the kids, and if they’ve got kids, well, they’ll be there too. The whole lot of ‘em. And it’s not just blood family he’s left – his music family, those folks who shared the stage and those who gathered around to listen, they’re all a part of his legacy too. That music won’t die; it’s part of him, part of them, and it’ll live on.
Condolences
If you can’t be there to say goodbye in person, well, the family’s grateful for any words of kindness you want to leave behind. They’ve set up a way folks can send condolences online. A message, a memory, or a prayer – anything to keep his memory alive is welcome.

So, here’s to you, Robert Scott – a man who lived with heart, played with soul, and loved deeply. May he rest easy, and may his family find comfort knowing he touched so many lives. Goodbye, Scotty. You’ll be missed, but never forgotten.
