Oh, dear, I gotta tell ya, this ain’t easy. But I wanna say a few words ‘bout my sister, the one who’s gone, and the one we all miss somethin’ fierce. I reckon this here is a bit like a goodbye, but more of a thank you, you know? A thank you for all the love she gave, for the way she made me laugh, and for just being there when things were tough.
See, growing up, my sister was like the sunshine on a cloudy day. She’d always have somethin’ funny to say, or a way to make me feel better, even when things were lookin’ real bad. She had this way of talkin’ that could just make anyone feel like they were the most important person in the world. I reckon that’s what made her special – she didn’t just talk to you, she listened too. And let me tell ya, she had a heart bigger than all of us put together.

I remember one time, it was back when we was still little ones runnin’ around barefoot. I had scraped my knee somethin’ fierce, and I was sittin’ there cryin’ like a baby. Well, my sister, she comes right over and without a word, takes my hand and just holds it. That was all I needed – her being there. No need for fancy words, just her being my rock. That’s how she was. Quiet strength. No one had to say much with her, but you always knew you were loved.
She wasn’t the loudest person in the room, but boy, when she spoke, everyone listened. She had a way of makin’ things clear, like when she told me how to take care of the garden, or when she’d give me advice on how to be a better person. She’d always say, “You gotta be kind, and don’t ever forget where you come from.” And I’ll tell ya, I ain’t ever forgettin’ that.
She was the type of sister who was there when the days were bright, and even more so when they got dark. When life handed us troubles, she never backed down. She faced everything head-on, and showed us all how to live with courage. It was like no matter what came at her, she always had a smile on her face, a laugh in her throat, and love in her heart. That’s how I’ll always remember her—strong, loving, and full of life.
Oh, and the way she made me laugh! We’d sit together and talk ‘bout the old days, or even the silly things that happened around the house. She had a way of tellin’ stories that could make you cry from laughin’. And even when things weren’t so funny, she still found a way to lighten the mood. She had a gift for turnin’ the worst of times into somethin’ a little more bearable. I’m gonna miss that. I’ll miss her laugh, her jokes, her little ways of makin’ the world seem less heavy.
I guess what I’m tryin’ to say is that my sister was one of a kind. She didn’t need to do big things to make a difference. She made a difference every day, just by being herself. The love she gave, the kindness she showed, the way she made us feel like we were never alone—that’s the legacy she leaves behind.
Now, I know I’m gonna miss her somethin’ fierce, but I also know that she’s still with us. In every laugh, every kind word, and in every memory we hold dear. She’s not really gone, you see. She’s just moved on to another place, but she’ll always be with me, with us. And I reckon that’s the greatest gift she ever gave. Her love, her kindness, and her strength are gonna live on, long after we say goodbye.

So, to my sister, I say this: Thank you. Thank you for every little thing you did. For your love, your laughter, and your unshakable strength. You may not be here in person, but you’re with us, always. And for that, I’ll be forever grateful.
Goodbye, sis. I love you, always.
