Well now, let me tell ya somethin’ about this here “Pokemon Go” game that them young folks been playin’. I reckon most of ya already know what it is, but for them who don’t, it’s a game where folks walk around in the real world catchin’ all sorts of creatures called Pokemons. Now, I ain’t much for these newfangled gadgets, but I’ve seen my grandkids playin’ it, and lord knows, they sure do get excited when they catch a new one!
So, there’s this one thing that happened not too long ago, and it caused quite a stir. They went and did an update on the app, and wouldn’t ya know it, all of a sudden, my character changed! Now, I don’t know what’s goin’ on with these youngins, but my character turned from a regular old white person to, well, a Black character! I ain’t got no problem with that, mind ya—I’m all for includin’ everyone, no matter where they come from or what they look like. But I just thought it was funny how a simple update could change your whole look like that. Made me chuckle a bit, I tell ya that much!

Now, some folks out there started talkin’ ’bout it. They wanted to know what’s goin’ on with this change. Is it somethin’ to do with the game tryin’ to be more inclusive, or is it just some random update? Well, I ain’t no expert on these things, but it sure looks like they’re tryin’ to make sure everyone feels welcome. I suppose it’s about time, don’t ya think? Not everyone looks the same, and not everyone should have to look the same either. It’s nice to see them mixin’ things up a bit.
But then there’s the other side of the coin. Some folks started askin’, “Well, what about the Black Pokemon characters?” So, I did a little diggin’, and here’s what I found for ya. These are some of the characters in the game that you might find lookin’ a bit more like folks from the African American community. I reckon y’all will be interested in these if you’re playin’ and wanna see a bit more diversity in your game!
- Lucario: Now, this one’s a real fan favorite. A strong fighter, with a bit of a cool, mysterious look. He’s got that blue fur and strong paws, and folks love him for his fighting skills.
- Gumshoos: He’s a little critter, always lookin’ around, doin’ his detective work. He’s got a bit of a cheeky look, and I reckon he’s one of them that’d be hangin’ ’round the streets if he were real.
- Pancham: This little panda-like fella is sure to make ya smile. He’s a bit of a troublemaker, but he’s cute as a button, and he can pack a punch when he needs to.
- Zorua: If you want a sneaky little fella who can change his appearance, Zorua’s your guy. This one’s got a bit of trickster in him, always keepin’ folks on their toes.
- Litten: A fiery little cat, always ready to jump into action. He’s got that tough look, but you can tell there’s a soft side to him too.
These here are just a few of the ones that might catch yer eye if you’re lookin’ for some diversity in your Pokemon collection. Now, don’t get me wrong, there’s plenty more characters in the game, and each one of ‘em’s got their own little charm. But these here are some that stand out a bit more if you’re lookin’ for that touch of Black culture in your gameplay.
And if you’re thinkin’ about how to change your character’s look to match the vibe of the game, well, it’s easy enough. Just open up the game and tap on your trainer’s portrait. You’ll find a whole bunch of options for clothes, hairstyles, and skin tones. Ya can choose what fits ya best, and have fun with it. I reckon that’s the beauty of these games nowadays, they let you be whoever you wanna be!
So, all in all, this update and the talk about Black characters in Pokemon Go just shows how things are changin’—for the better, I’d say. It’s all about inclusion and makin’ sure folks feel like they’re part of the game, no matter where they come from or what they look like. Makes the game a whole lot more fun, I reckon, when everyone can see themselves in it.
Well, that’s all I got to say about it. I’m just here for the fun and the little critters, whether they’re white, black, or anywhere in between. If ya ask me, it’s all about enjoyin’ the game and catchin’ as many Pokemons as ya can!
