Armstrong Main Tee Bars: Strong Support for Suspended Ceiling Systems

Posted on 22/11/202422/11/2024 by CurrentCommentator

Ya know, talkin’ about this Armstrong main tee thing, it’s kinda like buildin’ a good fence. You gotta have somethin’ strong to hold it all up, right? This main tee, it’s like the backbone of the whole ceilin’ thing.

Heard tell it’s called a main runner or somethin’ too. Fancy words, but it’s just a long piece, like a T, holdin’ up the tiles. They say it’s usually 3.6 meters long, whatever that means in feet. Long enough, I reckon.

Just gotta make sure it’s strong.

Like I said, like a good fence post. You hang them tiles off it, gotta hold ’em up good. They use wires and fancy fixin’s to hang this main tee from the roof, or whatever’s up there.

  • Strong wire, that’s important.
  • And good fixin’s, don’t want it fallin’ down.

Now, they say this tee comes in different sizes, but the one most folks use is 24 somethin’ somethings. Mill-ee-meters, I think. Don’t rightly know what that is, but sounds small. Anyways, this size works with them square tiles and the ones with the little lip, what they call teg-u-lar.

Then there’s this other kind, Supra-fine. That one’s a bit skinnier, I guess. 9/16 of an inch, they say. Made of steel, so it’s strong, but dipped in somethin’ to keep it from rustin’. That’s good, rust ain’t no good for nothin’.

And this Supra-fine stuff, they say it’s made with recycled stuff. Good for the earth, I suppose. Helps with them LEED credits, whatever them are.

Now, how they put these tees together, that’s important too. They got this Superlock 2 clip, they say. Makes a clickin’ sound when it’s tight. That’s good, you want it tight. Like a good knot, gotta hold tight.

This Armstrong company, they make tiles too. Not just the tees. Tiles are important too, gotta look nice and do their job. Some of ’em soak up sound, keep the room from echo-in’. Others block sound from goin’ through the walls. Good for keepin’ secrets, I guess.

If you’re lookin’ to get this stuff, I heard tell Lowe’s sells it. Big store, got all sorts of buildin’ stuff. Probably find what you need there.

Just remember, you want it strong and put together right. Like a good roof over your head, gotta keep the rain out. This main tee, it’s the start of it all. Get that right, and the rest will follow.

So don’t skimp, get the good stuff. And make sure whoever’s puttin’ it up knows what they’re doin’. Don’t want no droopy ceilings, that’s for sure.

Just my two cents, you know. Take it or leave it. But a good strong ceiling, well, that’s somethin’ everyone needs.
