Alright, let me tell ya, you wanna see Brussels in a day? You gotta hustle! It’s like tryin’ to fit all yer chickens back in the coop after they escaped – gotta be quick!
First thing, you gotta see that big square, what they call it… Grand-Place. It’s real fancy! Buildings all gold and shiny, makes ya feel like you stepped into a picture book. Just stand there a minute and gawk, it’s alright, everyone does it.
Then, you gotta find that little peein’ boy statue. Manneken Pis, they call him. He’s tiny! Smaller than a bucket, I swear. But everyone takes pictures, so I guess he’s important. You go on and snap a pic, tell yer friends you saw the peein’ boy.
- Now, lemme tell ya ’bout Mont des Arts. It’s a hill with a garden. You go up there, you can see the whole city, like standin’ on yer roof and lookin’ at yer whole farm. Pretty view!
- Get yerself some fries, they call ’em “French fries” but they’re really Belgian. Don’t ask me why, city folk are strange. Get ’em with some mayonnaise, that’s how they do it here. Trust me, it’s good!
- And the chocolate! Oh, the chocolate! It’s like heaven in yer mouth. Get a box, get two boxes, get as many as you can carry. You ain’t gonna regret it.
Walk around! You don’t need no fancy car or bus. Just put one foot in front of the other. The city’s not that big, you can walk everywhere. See the shops, see the people, see the buildings. Just wander, like you’re wanderin’ through yer fields back home.
They got these things called waffles here too. Big ol’ squares with stuff on top. Get one with strawberries and whipped cream. Or chocolate, can’t go wrong with chocolate. It’ll fill ya up, keep ya goin’ for the rest of the day.
If you got time, see if you can find them Brussels sprouts. Yeah, the vegetables. They named ’em after this place, imagine that! I ain’t never seen a sprout growin’ in the city though. Maybe they keep ’em in the back somewhere.
