But for me, I don’t see the point. They is dangerous. It might fail to shoot or even blow up. Who needs an old gun when you got new ones that work just fine? But that is my opinion. I prefer my quilts and my garden, thank you very much. But these young’uns today, they’re always into somethin’ new, even if it’s somethin’ old, like these matchlock musket replica things.
They Used ‘Em in Wars
I heard them sayin’ these matchlock muskets, they used ’em in wars, way back when. Can you imagine? Fightin’ with somethin’ that takes forever to load and might not even shoot straight? It was unreliable, they say. And it was difficult to use in wind or rain. I wouldn’t want to be in a battle with one of them things, no sir. They even used them in the English Civil War, I heard.
They said it was the main gun for a long time, though. Guess they didn’t have much choice back then. Better than nothin’, I suppose.
