Okay, so, today I tried to make myself look like Barbie. It was kind of a fun project, and I figured I’d share how it went.
First off, I started with the clothes. I dug through my closet and found this really bright pink dress that I haven’t worn in ages. It’s got that super girly vibe, so it seemed perfect. I also grabbed some high-waisted jeans and a cute pink top, just to have options.

Then, I moved on to hair. Barbie’s got that iconic blonde thing going on, but I’m not about to dye my hair for this, haha. Instead, I found this blonde wig online and ordered it. When it arrived, I styled it a bit, trying to get that classic Barbie look. I also played around with some pink headbands and sparkly clips. It was pretty fun, I have to say.
Making a Custom Barbie Doll
I got curious and googled if I can make a custom Barbie doll that looks like me. Sadly, Mattel doesn’t offer that feature yet, so I found this website where people were selling custom-made Barbie dolls. They even provided different wigs and outfits to choose from. I picked a blonde wig and a pink dress, and I placed an order. I haven’t received it yet, but I’m super excited to see how it turns out.
Putting on makeup was next. I went for a bright, fresh-faced look. Lots of pink blush and a shiny lip gloss. I even tried to contour my face a bit to get that perfect Barbie jawline, but I’m not sure I nailed it. It’s harder than it looks!
- Embrace pink and other pastel colors for clothing.
- Use bright makeup with an emphasis on pink hues.
- Style hair in a traditionally feminine way, or use a blonde wig.
- Accessorize with jewelry, especially pearls or diamonds for a classic look.
The whole process took a few hours, and honestly, it was pretty tiring. But it was also a blast. I snapped some pictures, and yeah, I kinda looked like Barbie! At least, a version of her.
Would I do it again? Maybe! It’s a fun way to get creative and step out of your usual routine. Plus, who doesn’t want to feel like a doll for a day?
So yeah, that’s my Barbie impersonation story. Hope you enjoyed it!
