Okay, so I’ve been messing around with keyboards lately, and I gotta say, it’s been a bit of a wild ride. I decided I wanted to go all-in on this 100 percent keyboard layout thing, you know, the full-sized ones with all the bells and whistles. And let me tell you, it’s a whole different world compared to those tiny keyboards.
First off, I had to figure out what I even wanted. I mean, there are tons of options out there. But I knew I needed the number pad ’cause I do a lot of work with spreadsheets and numbers, so that was a must. And the arrow keys? Forget about it, I use those all the time for editing documents, so those had to be there too.
So, I started digging around, looking at all these different full-sized keyboards. I ended up grabbing one that looked pretty solid – had all the keys I needed, felt good to type on, the whole nine yards. And man, it’s been a game-changer.
- Getting used to it: At first, it felt kinda huge. My desk suddenly seemed a lot smaller. But once I got used to the size, it was smooth sailing. My fingers just flew across the keys.
- Typing speed: I swear, my typing speed has gone up. Having all the keys right there, without having to use any weird function layers or anything, it just makes everything so much easier.
- Number pad action: Oh man, the number pad is a lifesaver. Entering numbers is a breeze now. No more hunting and pecking on the number row.
- Arrow keys for the win: Moving around in documents, making edits, it’s all so much quicker with dedicated arrow keys. I didn’t realize how much I missed them until I had them back.
Honestly, I don’t think I can go back to a smaller keyboard now. I mean, sure, this full-sized one takes up a bit more space on my desk, but it’s totally worth it for the functionality and how much easier it makes my work.
The Qwerty layout, you know, the standard one we all use? It’s just so familiar. I didn’t have to learn anything new. It’s like, everyone uses it, so if I ever need to use someone else’s computer, I’m good to go. I don’t think I’d ever switch to anything else.
But yeah, if you’re thinking about getting a new keyboard, and you do a lot of work with numbers or just need those extra keys, I’d definitely recommend checking out a 100 percent layout. It might seem big at first, but trust me, you’ll get used to it. And once you do, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it.
