Okay, so I’ve been messing around with these Bobagum Silent Linear switches for a while now, and I gotta say, they’re pretty interesting. I’m always on the lookout for something new to try in my mechanical keyboards, and these definitely caught my eye.
Getting Started
First thing I did was order a batch of these switches. They’re made by Outemu, or Gazzew, I don’t care. I’ve heard good things about them, especially for folks who want a silent linear experience. Once they arrived, I was eager to see what all the fuss was about.

Installation and Testing
I popped open a few of my boards and started swapping out the old switches for these Bobagums. Installation was a breeze, nothing out of the ordinary. They fit snugly into the switch sockets, and I was ready to go. Once I had them installed, I started typing away. The first thing I noticed was how quiet they were. Seriously, these things are stealthy. I could type in the middle of the night, and no one would bat an eye.
Feel and Sound
- Feel: They’re smooth, no doubt about it. Linear switches are known for their consistent feel throughout the keypress, and these Bobagums deliver on that front. There’s no tactile bump, just a smooth, uninterrupted travel from top to bottom.
- Sound: This is where they really shine. They’re not completely silent, but they’re pretty darn close. I’d say they have a soft, muted sound profile. Some folks online compared it to a “deep” tone, and I can see that. It’s not clacky at all, more like a gentle thud.
Tweaks and Mods
Of course, I couldn’t resist tinkering with them a bit. I tried lubing a few, just to see how it would affect the feel and sound. It made them even smoother, if that’s possible. And the sound got a bit more muted, too. I’ve seen some people online talking about using different films or springs, but I haven’t gone that far yet. Maybe in the future.
Final Thoughts
All in all, I’m pretty impressed with these Bobagum Silent Linear switches. They’re a great option if you’re looking for a quiet typing experience without sacrificing smoothness. I’ve seen some comparisons with other silent linears, like the TTC Silent Bluish White, and it seems like it comes down to personal preference. Some people prefer the Bobagums for their softer feel and deeper sound, while others like the TTCs for whatever reason. For me, these Bobagums are a winner. I’ve been using them in my daily driver for a while now, and I don’t see myself switching them out anytime soon. They’re just that good. They said that I can consider these endgame silent linears, I think they are right.
