Okay, so I had this crazy idea the other day. I’m a huge Kit Kat fan, like, seriously HUGE. And I’ve always been fascinated by all the weird and wonderful flavors they have around the world. So, I thought, “Why not try to find and taste as many as I can?” Thus began my “Kit Kat Around the World” project.
The Hunt Begins
First, I hit up the internet. I spent hours, seriously, hours, just browsing online stores and specialty shops. I made a massive list of all the different flavors I could find – everything from the usual suspects like milk chocolate and white chocolate to the more exotic ones like matcha green tea, sake, and even…wait for it… baked potato!

My initial plan, I’ll admit, was pretty ambitious. I figured I could just order everything online. Easy peasy, right? Wrong! Some of these flavors are super hard to find, especially if you want them shipped internationally. And the shipping costs? Don’t even get me started! I quickly realized this was going to be a bit more complicated than I thought.
Local Explorations
Next, I decided to check out some local Asian grocery stores. I live in a pretty diverse area, so I figured I might get lucky. And I did! I found a few different matcha Kit Kat varieties, some strawberry ones, and even a dark chocolate one. It was like hitting a mini-jackpot! I grabbed a bunch, feeling pretty pleased with myself.
Roadblocks and Challenges
It hasn’t all been smooth sailing, though. Some flavors, like the Japanese regional specialties, are practically impossible to get my hands on without actually going to Japan. I’m still trying to figure out how to get those. Maybe I need to make some friends in Japan… or start planning a trip! Also some product is out of stock frequently, so I have to check back frequently.
The Tasting (and the Verdict!)
- Matcha Green Tea: Okay, this one is a classic for a reason. It’s got that slightly bitter, earthy matcha flavor, but it’s still sweet and creamy. Definitely a winner.
- Strawberry: This one was surprisingly good! It tasted like real strawberries, not that artificial stuff.
- Dark Chocolate: A solid choice. You can’t really go wrong with dark chocolate, can you?
- Hojicha Roasted Tea: It tastes a bit more roasted and less bitter than Matcha. I enjoy the taste!
Still Searching…
This is definitely a work in progress. I’m still on the hunt for more flavors. I’m thinking of setting up some kind of online tracker to keep everything organized. And maybe I’ll even start a blog or something to document my journey. It’s been a fun (and tasty!) adventure so far. Stay tuned for more updates! It’s not finished yet!
