So, the other day I was messing around with percentages, trying to figure out this “25.5 out of 30” thing. I needed to calculate what percentage 25.5 is of 30. Sounds simple enough, right? But sometimes my brain just refuses to cooperate.
Getting Started
First, I grabbed my phone – my trusty calculator app is always there for me. I could have done this in my head, or even on paper, but hey, why make things harder than they need to be?

The Process
- I punched in 25.5.
- Then I hit the division button (you know, the one with the line and the dots).
- Next, I typed in 30.
- And finally, I pressed that glorious equals button (=).
The calculator spat out 0.85. Okay, cool, but that’s not a percentage yet. It’s a decimal.
Converting to Percentage
To get the percentage, I multiplied that 0.85 by 100. The easiest way? Just move that decimal point two places to the right. Bam! 85%.
The Result
So, there it is. 25.5 out of 30 is 85%. It’s one of these basic calculation, It helps a lot for other calculation.
It’s not exactly rocket science, but it’s something I did, and I figured I’d share. Maybe it’ll help someone else out there who’s also scratching their head over a simple percentage problem. Or maybe it’ll just remind you how handy that calculator app really is!
