Okay, so I finally decided to try Sculptra, and let me tell you, it’s been a journey! I’m going to walk you through the whole thing, from my first consultation to where I’m at now.
My First Consultation
I started by researching like crazy. I mean, hours and hours of reading reviews and looking at before-and-after pictures. I finally picked a doctor who seemed super experienced and had tons of positive reviews. The consultation was pretty straightforward. We talked about what I wanted to achieve – basically, I wanted to look less tired and get back some of the volume I’d lost in my cheeks and temples.

The Treatment Day(s)
So, Sculptra isn’t a one-and-done deal. It’s a series of injections over a few months. My doctor recommended three sessions, spaced about six weeks apart. The injections themselves weren’t too bad. I mean, it’s still needles in your face, but they used a numbing cream, so it was mostly just pressure, not sharp pain. Each session took maybe 30 minutes, tops.
Here’s how the treatment process look like.
- Mixing the magic: My nurse prepped the Sculptra. It comes as a powder, and they mix it with sterile water. I am pretty sure that I saw it.
- Marking the territory: The doctor marked up my face where she’d be injecting. It felt a bit like getting ready for a war.
- Injection time: This was the quickest part. Tiny pokes, a bit of pressure, and done.
- Massage: The important part is that after the injection, my doctor massaged the areas. She said this helps distribute the Sculptra evenly.
The Waiting Game (and the Massage!)
This is the key with Sculptra: you don’t see results right away. It’s not like filler. It works by stimulating your own collagen production, so it takes time. After each session, I had to massage my face – five minutes, five times a day, for five days. It felt a little silly, but I followed the instructions religiously. I didn’t want to mess things up!
Seeing the Results (Finally!)
It took a few weeks after the second session, but I started noticing a difference. My cheeks looked a little fuller, and my temples weren’t as hollow. It was subtle, but definitely there. It was like I was slowly turning back the clock. It felt good, I was looking a little more like my old self, but in a very natural way.
Where I’m At Now
I’ve finished my three sessions, and I’m really happy with the results. My face looks fuller and more youthful, but not in a fake or overdone way. People keep telling me I look “refreshed” or “well-rested” – exactly what I was going for! I do think that it took a while to start seeing the changes, so patience is a must.

It is worth doing your homework before deciding. It’s an investment, both time and money. It will give you the result eventually.
