So, I’ve been on this quest to find the perfect keyboard, you know? Something that feels good, looks sleek, and doesn’t take up my entire desk. I stumbled upon these “ultra-low profile” keyboards and thought, “Hey, that sounds interesting!”
I started by digging around online. I read some reviews, watched a few videos, and tried to get a sense of what was out there. There are a few different types, but the ones that caught my eye used these really flat key switches.

My Hunt Begins
I ordered a couple of different keyboards to try out. The first one felt… weird. The keys were so flat that I kept missing them. It was like typing on a table. Not a fan.
The second one was a bit better. It had slightly more “travel” (that’s how far the key goes down when you press it). It still felt different than my old keyboard, but I could see myself getting used to it.
- First impression: Super slim, almost too slim.
- Typing feel: Takes some getting used to. My fingers felt like they were sliding around.
- Sound: Pretty quiet, which is a plus if you’re working around other people.
Getting Used to It (Or Trying To)
I decided to stick with the second keyboard for a week. I figured I needed to give it a fair shot. And you know what? It started to grow on me. My typing speed was definitely slower at first, but I started to get the hang of it.
One thing I really liked was how little space it took up on my desk. My desk always feels cluttered, so this was a big win. Also, it was way easier to clean than my old keyboard. No more digging crumbs out from between the keys!
After the week was up, I was still on the fence. It wasn’t perfect, but it was definitely… different. In a good way, mostly.
The Verdict?
I ended up keeping the low-profile keyboard. It’s not my favorite keyboard of all time, but it’s comfortable enough, and I love the minimalist look. Plus, my desk is way less messy now. Win-win!

Would I recommend it? Maybe. If you’re looking for something really different and you’re willing to put in a little time to get used to it, then go for it. But if you’re super attached to your current keyboard, you might want to stick with what you know. Just my two cents!
