Okay, so I got these “gold pink” switches, and let me tell you, it was a journey. I’ve been wanting to try some new switches for my keyboard for a while, because, you know, why not? I saw these online, and the name just grabbed me. Gold pink? Sounds fancy, right?
First, I ordered them. That was the easy part. Waiting for them to arrive, though? Torture! I’m pretty sure I refreshed the tracking page like a million times.
Finally, they arrived! The box was smaller than I expected, to be honest. I ripped that thing open and there they were, all snug in their little plastic holders. They looked… pink. And gold, I guess. More pink than gold, though.
The Installation Process (aka My Struggle)
Next, I had to actually get them into my keyboard. This is where things got a little… complicated. I’ve swapped switches before, but these were being stubborn.
- I grabbed my switch puller.
- I started pulling out the old switches. Some were easy, some were REALLY stuck. I swear, I almost broke a sweat.
- I popped in the gold pink ones. Or, at least, I tried to. Some went in smoothly, others… not so much.
- After a good while of fiddling, pushing, and maybe a little bit of cursing, I managed to get them all in.
I plugged in my keyboard, held my breath, and… they worked! All of them! I was so relieved. I started typing, just random stuff, to test them out.
The feel? They’re… different. Definitely lighter than what I’m used to. It’s taking some getting used to, but I think I like them. They’re smooth, kind of “creamy” feeling, if that makes sense. And they sound pretty nice, too. Not too loud, not too quiet. Just a nice, gentle “thock.”
So, yeah, that’s my gold pink switch adventure. It was a bit of a pain to install them, but I think it was worth it. Now I have a fancy-sounding keyboard with fancy-sounding switches. And it’s pink! What’s not to love?
