So, I finally got around to properly setting up the Bluetooth on my Anne Pro 2. I’d been using it wired for a while, just out of habit, but the whole point of getting this little guy was the wireless freedom, right? Decided today was the day to ditch that cable, at least for a bit.
First thing I did was flip the keyboard over. There’s a tiny little switch on the bottom, pretty easy to miss if you’re not looking for it. Flicked that to the ‘on’ position. You gotta make sure that’s on, otherwise, nothing else Bluetooth-related is gonna happen. Obvious, I know, but sometimes it’s the obvious stuff we miss.
Next up, I needed to put the keyboard into pairing mode. I remembered reading something about using the Fn2 key. So, I pressed and held down the Fn2 key along with the number 1 key. You can use 1, 2, 3, or 4, as the keyboard can remember up to four different Bluetooth devices. I just went with 1 for my main computer. Held them both down for a good few seconds, maybe three or four. Watched the ‘1’ key, and sure enough, it started blinking. That’s the signal it’s searching and ready to be found.
Then, I hopped over to my computer. Opened up the Bluetooth settings. You know how it is, every operating system has its own little quirks for getting there, but it’s usually somewhere in the system settings or control panel. Clicked on ‘Add Bluetooth or other device’, then ‘Bluetooth’. My computer started scanning.
It took a moment, and then ‘Anne Pro 2’ popped up in the list of available devices. That was a good sign. I clicked on it. Sometimes, with other devices, it asks you to type a PIN code on the keyboard, which can be a bit fiddly, especially if the keyboard isn’t quite connected yet. But this time, it just connected straight away. No PIN, no fuss. The blinking light on the ‘1’ key stopped blinking and went solid for a bit, then off. All paired up.
And that was pretty much it. Typed a few things to test it, and it worked perfectly. Latency felt fine for typing and general use. I haven’t tried gaming on it wirelessly yet, still a bit old school and prefer a wire for that, just in case. But for everyday work, it’s brilliant. Makes the desk look so much cleaner without that extra cable snaking around.
It’s funny, I remember getting my first Bluetooth mouse years ago. It was a nightmare. The connection would drop all the time, I’d be jiggling it, turning it off and on. Batteries seemed to last about a week. We’ve come a long way. Now, this keyboard connected without a hitch. I even paired it to my tablet later using the Fn2 + 2 combo, just to see. Swapping between them is just a quick tap of Fn2 and the corresponding number. Pretty neat.
So, if you’re trying to get your Anne Pro 2 paired, that’s the drill. Switch on the bottom, then Fn2 plus a number key (1-4) held down until it blinks. Then find it on your computer or device. Simple when you know how, but I bet a few people have scratched their heads for a minute or two trying to figure out that key combo. Glad it’s sorted now.
