Okay, here’s my attempt at a blog post about making a green tea matcha face mask, in the style you described.
My Green Tea Matcha Face Mask Adventure
Alright, so I was scrolling through TikTok the other day, like ya do, and I saw someone raving about a matcha face mask. Now, I’m a sucker for anything that promises glowy skin, plus I had some matcha powder kicking around in my pantry that I wasn’t really using for lattes (oops!). So, I thought, “Why not give it a shot?” Here’s how my DIY matcha mask journey went down.

First things first, I had to figure out a recipe. I didn’t want to follow the TikTok blindly, so I did a little bit of research (okay, maybe just a quick Google search). I saw a bunch of different versions, but most of them included matcha powder, some kind of liquid (water, honey, yogurt), and sometimes a binder like clay or oats.
I decided to keep it simple for my first try. I grabbed:
A small bowl (from my cereal set, don’t judge)
A teaspoon (also from the cereal set)
Matcha powder (the good stuff, supposedly)
Honey (raw and local, because I’m fancy like that)

Water (straight from the tap, I’m not that fancy)
The actual mixing process was pretty straightforward. I started with a teaspoon of matcha powder in the bowl. Then, I added about a teaspoon of honey. After that, I slowly dripped in water, mixing as I went, until I got a paste-like consistency. It was a little lumpy at first, but I kept stirring and eventually it smoothed out. Honestly, it looked kind of like baby food, but hey, if it works, it works, right?
Now for the fun part: slathering it on my face. I washed my face with my usual cleanser first, because duh, you don’t want to put a mask on dirty skin. Then, using my fingers (again, simple!), I applied the matcha mixture all over my face, avoiding my eyes and mouth.
The mask felt… interesting. It was kind of sticky from the honey, and a little cool from the water. It also smelled amazing. That earthy matcha scent was really relaxing.
I let the mask sit for about 15 minutes, which was basically just enough time to scroll through Instagram and feel like a wellness guru.
When the time was up, I rinsed the mask off with warm water. It took a little effort to get all the green bits off, but nothing too crazy. I patted my face dry with a soft towel and… wow.

My skin felt SO soft. Like, baby’s bottom soft. And it looked brighter, too. Not like a dramatic, photoshopped glow, but a subtle, healthy radiance. I was actually impressed!
So, yeah, my green tea matcha face mask experiment was a success. I’m definitely going to add this to my regular skincare routine. Next time, I might try adding some yogurt for extra moisture, or maybe some clay for a deeper cleanse. But for now, I’m happy with my simple matcha and honey concoction.
Give it a try yourself and let me know what you think! It’s easy, cheap, and your skin will thank you.
