So I’ve been hearing a lot about Korey Kauffman’s photography lately, especially from other photographer friends who kept mentioning this one iconic street shot he took. At first I just nodded along like “yeah, sounds cool” without actually looking it up. Big mistake.
The Wake-Up Call
Then last Tuesday my buddy Dave texts me: “Dude how have you NOT seen Kauffman’s homeless series? That shot with the shopping cart under the bridge?” That finally kicked my butt into gear. I grabbed my tablet and searched his name online.

The Hunt Was Rough
Took me forever to find the good stuff! First page of search results showed:
- Random forum posts about camera gear
- Some podcast interviews
- A wiki page that’s mostly text
Felt like trying to find buried treasure covered in mud. I almost rage-quit when this stupid popup ad for camera filters blocked my screen three times. Like seriously, leave me alone!
When I Finally Hit Gold
After digging through like 15 sites, I finally stumbled onto this photography forum thread called “Kauffman’s Top 5”. There it was:
- The infamous bridge shot with shopping cart – so much mood in the rain
- That black-and-white portrait of the barber mid-haircut
- The legendary carnival ride pic with crazy reflections in broken mirrors
Literally yelled “YES!” alone in my living room. Scared the cat off my lap too.
My Hands Got Itchy
Next day I hauled my Canon to the sketchiest part of downtown trying to copy that bridge shot concept. Took like two hours kneeling in damp concrete before a security guard told me to scram. Got chased off but at least I caught this cool shot of his flashlight beam cutting through graffiti before I ran.
What You Need to Know
Look, just don’t be lazy like I was at first. Set aside thirty minutes and actually search until you find those carnival and bridge shots. Bring coffee though – you’ll need it to push past all the trash results.
