Okay, so today I wanted to mess around with Backpage, specifically the Spokane section. I’d heard some wild stories, and honestly, I was curious. It was all pretty straightforward to start.
First, I headed over to the site. It looked kinda dated, but whatever. I clicked on the US section, then found Washington state. From there, it was easy to spot Spokane and click through.

Once I was in, I saw a bunch of different categories. You know, the usual stuff: community, personals, services, jobs. I wasn’t really sure what I was looking for, so I just started browsing.
- The community section was mostly events and lost and found stuff. Nothing too crazy there.
- Personals, well, that was a whole other world. Lots of people looking for all sorts of things.
- Services had your typical handyman, massage, legal stuff. Pretty standard.
- Jobs were a mix of everything, from construction to office work.
I spent a good amount of time just clicking around, reading different posts. Some were funny, some were sad, some were just plain weird. It was like peering into a different side of the city that I never knew existed. I sent a few messages. I got several responses from these messages. After a while I left there.
Honestly, the whole experience was kind of a mixed bag. It was interesting to see what people were posting, but it also felt a little seedy at times. I don’t think I’ll be spending much more time on Backpage, but it was definitely an eye-opening experience.
This was how I got it done.
