Okay, so today was all about getting my picks ready for the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. I’ve been following this tournament for years, and I always like to put together my own little list of who I think will do well. It’s just for fun, nothing serious, but I still like to put some thought into it.
Getting Started
First thing I did was grab my laptop and opened up my trusty old notepad file. I like keeping things simple, no fancy spreadsheets or anything. Just a plain old list works best for me. Then I opened up a few golf websites, you know, the usual ones, to check out the field and see who’s playing this year.

Research, Research, Research!
Next, I started looking at recent performance. It’s all about who’s hot right now. I looked at the last few tournaments, seeing who’s been finishing high, who’s been consistent, and who might be on an upswing. Pebble Beach can be a tricky course, so I really wanted to see how players have handled similar conditions recently. I jotted down some names of players who seemed to be in good form.
- Checked recent tournament results.
- Looked for consistent players.
- Considered players who perform well in windy conditions.
Course History Matters
After looking at recent form, I started digging into course history. Some guys just seem to play well at Pebble Beach, year after year. It might be something about the layout, the greens, or maybe they just like the scenery! Whatever it is, I made sure to note down players who have a good track record at this tournament.
Gut Feeling
Of course, after all the research, there’s always a bit of gut feeling involved. Sometimes you just get a hunch about a player, even if the stats don’t necessarily back it up. I added a couple of those “dark horse” picks to my list, just for fun. You never know, maybe one of them will surprise everyone!
Finalizing My Picks
Finally, I went through my notes and narrowed it down to my top picks. I like to have a mix of favorites and underdogs. It makes it more exciting to watch when you’re rooting for different types of players. I wrote down my final list, feeling pretty good about my choices. Now, it’s just a matter of waiting for the tournament to start and seeing how my picks perform!
I really enjoy the preparation of this event, and maybe my picks will be successful!
