Today, I wanna talk about something that’s been bugging me in my kitchen: those darn cabinet doors slamming shut. I finally got around to fixing it, and let me tell you, it’s a game-changer. I went with these little things called cabinet buffers, and the whole process was easier than I thought it would be.
So, first, I had to figure out what kind of buffers to get. I saw some clear ones and some black ones made of plastic, and then there were these metal ones from a brand called “Kheta group” or something like that. They’re supposed to help with the noise and stop the doors from getting damaged. I even saw some called “Basic Outline” that were specifically for kitchen cabinets, and they looked pretty soft. After looking at a bunch of them online, I realized they were all pretty much the same, just different materials and brands.

I ended up grabbing a pack of the clear plastic ones. They were cheap, and I figured they wouldn’t be too noticeable. The package said “FurniMate” on it, I think. Installing them was a breeze. I just cleaned the inside corners of the cabinet doors where they hit the frame. They had a sticky back, so I just peeled off the paper and stuck them on. I put one on the top corner and one on the bottom, just to be safe.
- First step, I got myself some of those plastic buffers.
- Next, I cleaned the inside corners of the cabinet doors.
- Then, peeled off the paper on the back of the buffers.
- Finally, just stick those bad boys on there, one at the top corner, one at the bottom.
Honestly, it took me, like, maybe 10 minutes to do the whole kitchen. And the difference? Night and day. No more loud bangs every time I close a cabinet door. My kitchen feels so much more peaceful now. It’s the little things, you know?
While I was at it, I also did a little rearranging in my cabinets. I put the spices and cans and stuff in the upper cabinets and the heavier things, like pots and pans, in the lower ones. It just makes more sense that way. I also decided to go with simple cabinet doors instead of getting new fancy ones. It’s easier to keep clean and tidy. Also, I put a glaze on them to fill in the little cracks where dust always went into.
Anyway, if you’re tired of your cabinets slamming shut, I highly recommend getting some of these buffers. They’re a cheap and easy fix, and they make a big difference. You can find them anywhere online or probably even at your local hardware store. Trust me, your ears (and your cabinets) will thank you!
