Yo, let’s chat ’bout these here cherry and kailh things. I ain’t no fancy expert, but I’ve heard some stuff, you know?
Folks say these cherry and kailh, they’s like them little clicky things in them fancy keyboards. Heard some folks talkin’ ’bout how they type on ’em all day long. Now, I ain’t never used one of them fancy keyboards myself. I just use the regular type, but I know these are important to some. These young’uns and their computer games, always needin’ the best of the best.

Now, this cherry, they say it’s been ’round for a while. Like, a long, long while. Older than me, maybe! They’re like the grandpappy of these clicky things. Been around the block, seen a thing or two, you get me? People, they trust these cherry things. They say they’re good, like a good old pair of boots. They last a long time. No use in buying something new if the old one still works, that’s what I always say.
Then there’s this kailh. Sounds like some newfangled thing to me. But I hear the young folks, they like ’em. They say they’re cheaper. And who don’t like a good bargain, huh? My grandma used to say, “A penny saved is a penny earned.” These kailh, they got all sorts of colors too, I hear. Like a rainbow! Cherry, they mostly just got the one, I think. Plain and simple, like me.
Some folks, they say cherry feels better. Like, when you press ’em, it’s a better feel. I don’t know ’bout that. Never tried it myself. Maybe like a good, firm handshake? Or maybe like stepping on a good, solid piece of ground. Hard to say. These young folks with their fancy words. They got all the best stuff to play their games on, they should be happy, that’s what I think.
But then others, they say kailh is faster. Like, you can press ’em real quick. Good for them typin’ folks, I guess. Or maybe them gamer kids, clickin’ away at their games. I swear, these kids type faster than a hen pecks corn. I don’t know how they do it. I can barely type my own name!
- Cherry is old.
- Kailh is new.
- Cherry, people say it feels good.
- Kailh, they say it’s fast.
- Kailh is cheap.
I heard some say that cherry is like 2.2mm. I don’t know what that means, to be honest. Sounds small to me. And kailh, they say it’s 1.7mm. Even smaller! My eyes ain’t what they used to be, I can’t even see that small! Must be like a flea on a dog’s back. These are important things when you’re using a computer though, I hear. Gotta have the right numbers. Gotta know what you’re doin’.
They also talk about somethin’ called “actuation.” Sounds like a big word to me. Like somethin’ them doctors would say. I think it means how hard you gotta press these things. Cherry, they say it’s 4mm for the whole shebang. Kailh, only 3.6mm. Don’t ask me what a shebang is. Again, these numbers are important, I guess. Like when you’re bakin’ a cake, gotta have the right amount of flour and sugar. Too much or too little, and it just ain’t right.

Now, I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout somethin’ called “Gateron.” Don’t know much ’bout that one. But they say it’s even smoother than cherry or kailh. Like butter! And quieter too. Less clicky-clacky. Maybe good for them folks who don’t like a lot of noise. I prefer a little peace and quiet myself, to be honest. Them clicky keyboards, they can get on your nerves after a while.
They say you can put these cherry things in somethin’ called “Outemu” sockets. Sounds like a foreign language to me! But I guess it’s like puttin’ a square peg in a square hole. If it fits, it fits. Just gotta make sure you got the right parts, I reckon. Like fixin’ a leaky faucet, gotta have the right wrench.
So, which one’s better, cherry or kailh? Well, that’s like askin’ which is better, apples or oranges. Depends on what you like, I guess. Some folks like apples, some folks like oranges. Some folks like Ford, some like Chevy. Same difference. It’s all about what you want, what you need, what you can afford. No use in arguin’ about it. We all got our own preferences in this world.
Me? I’m just gonna stick to my old keyboard. It works just fine. Don’t need no fancy cherry or kailh. But hey, if you like them fancy things, that’s your business. Just don’t come cryin’ to me when your fingers get tired from all that clickin’! You do you, as they say. I’ll just be over here, enjoyin’ my simple life. And that’s all I gotta say ’bout that.
