Okay, so, the other day I was messing around with my audio setup, you know, trying to get things just right. I’ve got this old jacket that I really love, but the click switches on it were starting to act up. They weren’t clicking properly anymore, some of them getting stuck or not responding at all. It was driving me nuts!
So, I thought, “Why not try to fix them myself?” I mean, how hard could it be, right? Famous last words. I started by carefully examining the switches, trying to figure out how they worked and what was causing the problems.

After a bit of fiddling, I realized that some of the switches were just dirty and needed a good cleaning. So I grabbed some isopropyl alcohol and some cotton swabs and carefully cleaned each of the switches. It was a bit tedious, but I wanted to make sure I got into every nook and cranny.
- First, I dipped a cotton swab in the alcohol.
- Then, I gently rubbed it around the switch, making sure to get rid of any dirt or grime.
- I repeated this process for each of the switches, being careful not to damage anything.
For the switches that were actually broken, I had to do a bit more work. I carefully disassembled them, taking note of how each part fit together. Some of them were simple fixes, like a loose spring or a bent contact. Others were more complicated, requiring me to replace some of the internal components. I found some similar old switches that I had lying around, I dismantled them carefully.
I used tweezers and a small screwdriver to carefully remove the parts I needed. Then, I transplanted them into the broken switches on my jacket, making sure everything fit snugly and securely. Then I re-assembled the switches one by one, and tested each one as I went to make sure they were clicking properly.
Testing and Final Touches
After what felt like hours of work, I finally finished fixing all of the switches. I put my jacket back on and tested each one of the switches. Much to my delight, they were all working perfectly, clicking like new!
I have to say, it was a pretty satisfying feeling to fix something myself, especially something as important as the click switches on my favorite jacket. It wasn’t the easiest job in the world, but it was definitely worth it in the end. Plus, I learned a lot about how these little switches work, which is always a good thing. So yeah, that’s my little story about fixing the click switches on my jacket. Hope you enjoyed it!
