Alright, so I decided to tackle the “Cursed to Golf” trophies. I’m not gonna lie, it looked kinda intimidating at first, but I figured, “Hey, I’ve platinumed tougher games, right?” So I dove in.
Getting Started
First thing I did was just play. No pressure, no guides, just me and the cursed golf course. I wanted to get a feel for the mechanics, the different shot types, and the general weirdness of the game. I quickly learned that this isn’t your grandpa’s golf game. You’ve got Ace Cards, crazy obstacles, and that darn Scotsman breathing down your neck.

Idol Worship (and Destruction)
I noticed pretty early on that smashing those Idols was key. Not just for extra shots, but also for some trophies. So, I made it a point to prioritize hitting those golden guys whenever I could. Some were easy, right out in the open. Others? Hidden behind walls, requiring some tricky bank shots or a well-placed Explode Ace Card. It was like a puzzle within a puzzle, figuring out the best way to reach them.
- Tip: Don’t be afraid to experiment with different Ace Cards to reach those out-of-the-way Idols. The Scatter Shot and Rocketball can be lifesavers!
Mastering the Ace Cards
Speaking of Ace Cards, these things are your best friends. I started to learn which cards worked best in different situations. Need to get through a tight space? U-Turn. Need some extra distance? Mulligans. Need to blow stuff up? Explode, obviously! There’s a trophy for using every Ace Card type, so I made sure to cycle through them all, even if I didn’t need to use them at that particular moment.
The Grind Begins
After my initial playthrough, I had a decent chunk of trophies, but there were still some tough ones left. The ones for completing courses without using Ace Cards, or finishing with a certain number of shots remaining… those were a pain. I had to really focus, plan my shots carefully, and sometimes just get lucky with the course layout. It was frustrating at times, but I kept at it.
Practice Makes Perfect (Almost)
One thing I found super helpful was replaying holes. If I messed up a shot, I’d just restart and try again. This helped me learn the best routes, the optimal shot types, and the timing for those tricky moving platforms. It’s all about practice, practice, practice. And maybe a little bit of cursing at the screen when you miss that crucial putt by a millimeter.
Victory! (And a Shiny Platinum)
Finally after the putting, and card playing, I did it! I conquered that cursed golf course and earned myself that sweet, sweet platinum * felt so satisfied and a little bit exhausted. It was a fun, challenging, and definitely weird experience. Would I recommend it? Absolutely! Just be prepared to spend some time getting to know the ins and outs of this quirky game. And don’t forget to smash those Idols!
