So, I was really getting into the holiday spirit this year, but you know, with my own little twist. I’m a big fan of horror movies and all things spooky. I thought, “Why not combine my love for Christmas with my passion for horror?” That’s how I got the idea to make horror Christmas cards.
First, I started by brainstorming some ideas. I wanted something unique, something that would really stand out. I looked through some online shops and found some cool designs, but nothing that really clicked with me. I decided to take matters into my own hands and create my own.

Designing the Cards
I dusted off my old drawing tablet and got to work. I sketched a few designs, playing around with different horror themes.
- One design featured a creepy-looking Santa Claus with glowing red eyes.
- Another one had a snowman, but instead of a carrot nose, it had a bloody knife. Classic, right?
- I even did one with a Christmas tree decorated with skulls and bones.
After finalizing the designs, I moved on to coloring them. I used a dark color palette, lots of reds, blacks, and greens to give them that eerie Christmas vibe. It took a few days, but I was pretty happy with how they turned out.
Printing the Cards
Next, I needed to print them. I didn’t have a fancy printer at home, so I went to a local print shop. I chose a thick, high-quality paper to give the cards a nice, premium feel. I explained to the guy at the counter what I wanted, and he was a bit taken aback, but hey, he did a great job. The cards looked even better in print than I had imagined.
Sending Them Out
Finally, it was time to send them out. I handwrote a personal message in each card, trying to be funny but also a bit spooky. I sent them to my friends who I knew would appreciate the dark humor. The reactions were priceless! Some found them hilarious, others were a bit creeped out, but everyone agreed they were unique. One of my friends even said it was the best Christmas card she’s ever received.
Overall, it was a fun little project. It was great to combine two things I love and share them with my friends. I’m already thinking about next year’s designs. Maybe I’ll do a series of horror movie-themed Christmas cards. Who knows? The possibilities are endless!
Hope you all enjoyed my little adventure into the world of horror Christmas cards. Maybe it will inspire you to add a little spookiness to your holiday season too!
