Today, I tried to play lacrosse, and I picked the Lewis-Palmer team. It’s a high school team, I think, but it looked pretty cool from what I saw online.
First, I tried to find their games. It looks like they played a game on May 8, 2024, against Monarch High School. But they lost that one, 3-16. Ouch! It mentioned something about “Key Colorado high school,” so I guess it’s a big deal there.
I saw that Lewis-Palmer is located at 1300 Higby Rd, Monument, 80132. Not sure where that is exactly, but I wanted to know the location.
Then, I found something about a player named Hunter Finney. He seems like a good player. It said he’s a sophomore and he’s fast. There was a quote saying, “Hunter is an amazing driver with the need for speed.” Sounds like he’s a multi-sport athlete, too. Cool.
I also read that they had some kind of championship game, and the upperclassmen won against the coaches and freshmen, 35-21. That’s a big win! They said the MVP was a coach named Zoldi. I wonder how the actual players felt about that.
It looks like the Lewis-Palmer team is pretty good overall, though. One article mentioned that they were undefeated in their league after beating Douglas County. That’s impressive.
There’s also a senior captain named Garrett Ziegler. The coach, Dan Mullins, had some high praise for him, but he didn’t get into the details. “First off”, he said. What a cliffhanger!
- Started by looking up recent Lewis-Palmer lacrosse games.
- Found their May 8th game against Monarch High School (they lost).
- Located the school at 1300 Higby Rd, Monument, 80132.
- Discovered a player named Hunter Finney, who seems fast and skilled.
- Read about an upperclassmen vs. coaches/freshmen game (upperclassmen won).
- Learned that the team was undefeated in their league after beating Douglas County.
- Noticed a senior captain, Garrett Ziegler, who got praised by the coach.
Overall, it was a fun little dive into the world of Lewis-Palmer lacrosse. I didn’t get to see any actual gameplay, but I learned a bit about the team and some of their players. Maybe I’ll try to catch one of their games sometime.
My Thoughts
It’s tough to find a lot of info about high school sports online. It seems like you need to find the right places. I bet if I was actually in Colorado, it would be easier to find out more about this team.
