Okay, so I recently got back from a trip to Boracay, and let me tell you, I was stressed. Work had been crazy, and I just needed to unwind. So, I made it my mission to find the best spa experience on the island. I mean, what’s a beach vacation without some serious pampering, right?
The Hunt Begins
First things first, I jumped online. I spent, like, an hour scrolling through reviews, comparing prices, and looking at pictures. So many options! It was a bit overwhelming, to be honest.

I narrowed it down to a few places that looked promising based on good overall feedback and I do not want a shady massage.
My First Stop…
I am not going to name the name, but It was a letdown, sadly. The place looked amazing online – all airy and white, you know the vibe. But the massage itself? Just…meh. The therapist seemed kind of new, and the pressure was all wrong. Plus, it was noisy! I could hear people chatting outside. Definitely not the relaxing experience I was hoping for.
Trying Again…
I crossed that first one of my list in my mind. I decided to go with a place that had consistently high ratings and focused on traditional Filipino Hilot massage. I figured, when in Rome, right? Or, well, when in Boracay…
- Booking: Called them up, and they were super friendly and accommodating. Booked a 90-minute Hilot massage for the next day.
- Arrival: The spa was tucked away from the main road, which was already a good sign. It felt instantly more peaceful. I was greeted with a warm smile and a refreshing welcome drink.
- The Atmosphere: This place got it right. Soft music, calming scents, dim lighting… I instantly felt myself starting to relax.
The Hilot Experience
Okay, so this was different! Hilot is a traditional Filipino healing massage. My therapist used long, flowing strokes, and focused on areas where I was holding tension (which, let’s be real, was everywhere). They use warm coconut oil and banana leaves, which felt amazing on my skin.

It wasn’t just a massage; it felt like a whole ritual. I felt so much more relaxed and centered afterward. There were some moments that were like intense, but in a good way. Like she was really working out the knots. I definitely dozed off a few times, it was that soothing.
The Result
After the massage, I was in that blissful, post-spa daze. You know the one? Where you’re just floating on a cloud? I felt completely rejuvenated. My muscles were relaxed, my mind was clear, and I was finally ready to actually enjoy my vacation.
I’m so glad I didn’t give up after that first disappointing experience. Finding this spa made all the difference. And the best part of the massage is, I had the best sleep I had got in months!
