Love Ella Hiking? Check Out These Amazing Views!

Okay, so yesterday, I finally did the Ella hiking trail. I’ve been meaning to do it for ages, and let me tell you, it was something!

First things first, I woke up super early, like 5 AM early. I’m not usually a morning person, but I wanted to beat the heat and the crowds. I chugged a quick coffee, grabbed a banana, and threw on my hiking gear. I felt a little silly, all geared up, but hey, better safe than sorry, right?

I drove to the trailhead, which was about 40 minutes away. The drive itself was pretty scenic, all winding roads and green hills. Finding the parking was a little tricky, ended up circling for like 10 minutes before I snagged a spot.

I hit the trail and immediately it was uphill. My legs started burning within the first 15 minutes! I’m not gonna lie, I questioned my life choices a few times. But I kept pushing, taking little breaks here and there to catch my breath and drink some water.

The Views

  • The views, though… totally worth it.
  • As I got higher, I could see the whole valley spread out below me.
  • It was breathtaking, seriously. I took a bunch of pictures, but they don’t even do it justice.

The trail itself was pretty rocky and uneven in places. I definitely recommend wearing good hiking boots. I saw a couple of people in sneakers, and they looked like they were struggling. I tripped a few times myself, but luckily, I didn’t fall.

It took me about three hours to reach the top. I sat down, ate a granola bar, and just soaked in the view. It was so peaceful and quiet up there. I could have stayed there all day, but I knew I had to head back down eventually.

The way down was easier on the lungs, but harder on the knees. I took it slow and steady, and finally made it back to the car. I was exhausted, but in a good way. Like I had really accomplished something.

I treated myself to a huge burger and fries on the way home. I figured I deserved it after all that hiking. All in all, it was an awesome day. I’d definitely do the Ella hiking trail again, maybe when it’s a little cooler though!
