Okay, so, let me tell you about this little thing I’ve been messing around with – the mini Bolide. I saw it online and thought, “Why not?” It’s always fun to try something new, right? So I ordered one. I don’t even remember which color I chose at the first time – maybe it’s a Rose Texas, the pinkish one.
When it arrived, I gotta say, I was a bit surprised. It was SMALL. Like, really small. I mean, I knew it was “mini,” but this was tinier than I expected. I tried it on and… well, let’s just say I felt a little silly. It looked so small on me! I’m not exactly a giant, but still, it felt like a toy bag. I think I am not the thin build but it still looked so wired.

I started digging around online, trying to see if other people had the same reaction. Turns out, I’m not alone. I found some forum posts where people were saying the same thing. Some taller folks were saying it looked “comically small.” That made me feel a little better, knowing it wasn’t just me. I saw someone compared it with Bolide 27, which I never thought about it before but it sounds like a good idea.
But here’s the thing about this mini Bolide – it’s actually kind of cool in its own way. It’s super simple. No fancy stuff, just a basic, scaled-down version of those dome-shaped bags. And you know what? It’s got this zipper. Apparently, the Bolide was the first bag to have a zipper like this. Who knew? I’ve learned so much about it.
I took it out a couple of times, just to see how it felt in the real world. I found myself using it as a carry-on bag when I traveled a few weeks ago. It is really suitable for travel as they say! It fit my phone, wallet, keys, and a few other essentials. It was actually pretty convenient for running quick errands. I started to appreciate its simplicity. It is not as attractive as the Birkin or Kelly, but it got a timeless appeal. I saw some celebrities also use it.
Here’s what I think after using this mini Bolide:
- It’s definitely small. If you’re looking for a bag to carry a lot of stuff, this ain’t it.
- It’s surprisingly practical. For quick trips or when you just need the essentials, it works.
- It’s got a certain charm. It’s simple, but in a good way. And the zipper thing is kind of neat.
- Maybe it’s better for shorter people. Or maybe I just need to get used to it. It is not cheap, around $5,000 at least I think.
So, yeah, that’s my mini Bolide story. It wasn’t exactly what I expected, but I’m not mad about it. It’s a quirky little bag, and I think I’m starting to like it. Maybe I’ll try a bigger size next time, like that Bolide 27 someone mentioned. We’ll see!
