Okay, so today I messed around with this game called “Magic Metro”. It looked kinda simple at first, but man, it gets tricky fast!
Getting Started
First, I just downloaded it. I found a free version online, so that was easy. Then, I just opened it up and hit “Play”. No complicated setup or anything.

Figuring Out the Basics
The game throws you right in. You see these little symbols – circles, squares, triangles – popping up on the screen. These are the stations. And then you see these little… things… that look like passengers, also with shapes. Your job is to connect the stations with lines, like subway lines, so the passengers can get where they need to go.
- I started by just drawing lines between stations that were close together.
- I quickly realized I needed to match the passenger shapes to the station shapes. Like, circle passengers want to go to circle stations.
- The game slowly added more stations and more shapes, so I had to keep adding lines and adjusting things.
Getting Tricky
Here’s where I started to sweat a little. The game introduces rivers! You can only have so many lines crossing a river, so you gotta be smart about how you route everything. Then, they start throwing in these “rush hour” events where a TON of passengers show up at one station. If you don’t manage it fast, the station gets overcrowded and you lose!
My “Strategy” (aka, Frantic Clicking)
I don’t know if I’d call it a strategy, but I basically just tried to keep the lines as short as possible. I also learned that you can drag lines around and re-route them, which is a lifesaver. I spent a good hour just rearranging lines, trying to keep up with the growing crowds.
And I found if I made circle lines that went round and round, things would be ok.
The Result
I didn’t “win”, exactly. There’s not really a winning, I think. You just keep going until you get overwhelmed. I managed to survive for a pretty long time, though! I felt like a real city planner… a very stressed-out city planner.
Overall, “Magic Metro” is a fun little game. It’s easy to pick up, but it definitely challenges your brain. I’d recommend giving it a try if you like puzzles and don’t mind a little bit of chaos.
