Overwatch Team Finder: Level Up Your Gameplay!

Posted on 18/01/202518/01/2025 by StorySpinner

Alright, so I wanted to get into some more competitive Overwatch, you know? But playing solo just wasn’t cutting it. I needed a team, a group of like-minded individuals who wanted to win as much as I did. So, I started my quest to find the perfect Overwatch team.

First, I hit up some forums and communities. I lurked around, reading posts, seeing who was looking for what. I saw a few people mention this “Better Academy” place, supposed to be good for console players to find teams and compete. Sounds cool, but I’m more of a PC guy myself.

Then I stumbled upon this website called TeamTavern. They claimed to be an esports team-finding platform, and they recently added support for Overwatch. I thought, “Why not?” and decided to give it a shot.

Creating a profile on TeamTavern was a piece of cake. I just had to write a little bit about myself, my playstyle, my preferred heroes, and my in-game achievements. I made sure to highlight my strengths and what I was looking for in a team. I’m a pretty decent support player, focusing mainly on heroes like Ana and Zenyatta, and I wanted a team that was serious about improving and climbing the ranks.

After setting up my profile, I started browsing through the teams that were looking for players. There were quite a few, but I had to filter them out based on my hero pool and my Skill Rating (SR). I mean, I had to get my SR from playing competitive first, which took some time. I wasn’t going to join a team that was way above or below my level.

  • I spent hours searching and messaging different teams.
  • Some never replied, some were full, and some just weren’t the right fit.
  • It was a bit discouraging at times, but I kept at it.

Finally, I found a team that seemed promising. They were looking for a support player, their SR range matched mine, and their goals aligned with mine. I sent them a message, we chatted for a bit, and they invited me to try out.

The tryout went well. We played a few matches together, and I felt like I meshed well with the team. They were all chill, communicative, and skilled. We won most of our games, and I felt like I was contributing to the team’s success. After the tryout, they offered me a spot on the team, and I gladly accepted!

It was quite the journey.

Now, we’re practicing regularly, participating in tournaments, and slowly but surely climbing the ranks. It’s been a great experience so far, and I’m glad I didn’t give up on finding a team. TeamTavern definitely helped me in my search, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a serious Overwatch team. But seriously, you have to be patient. Finding a team that really works for you takes time and effort. Don’t give up!
