So, I was looking around my workspace the other day, and man, it was dull. Just plain dull. You know the vibe. Standard office stuff.
And those motivational posters? The serious kind? “Reach for the Stars!” or “Persistence Pays!” Honestly, they just weren’t doing it for me. Felt a bit… preachy, I guess.

Then it hit me. What if these things were actually funny? Like, properly humorous. Something to make you snort your coffee a bit.
My Grand Plan Unfolds
So, I decided to give it a shot. My mission: find or make some humorous motivational posters.
First, I tried making my own. Opened up some basic picture editor I had on my computer. Nothing fancy, just something to slap text on an image.
My initial ideas? Pretty bad, I gotta admit. I was thinking along the lines of “Hang in there, it’s almost Friday!” with a picture of a stressed-out cat. A bit too obvious, right?
I fiddled around for a good hour. Tried to be clever. Most of it ended up in the digital trash can.
Then, I figured, let’s see what the internet has. Someone must be making funny stuff already. So I started searching. Typed in “humorous motivational posters” and variations of that.

And wow. A lot of stuff out there. Some of it was genuinely hilarious. Some, well, some was just trying too hard. You know what I mean.
- I scrolled.
- I clicked.
- I saved a few that made me chuckle.
My process was pretty simple: if it made me laugh, it was a contender. If it made me roll my eyes, nope, next!
Getting to the Good Stuff
After seeing what worked (and what really didn’t), I got a better feel for it. The really funny ones, they often had a bit of truth, a bit of sarcasm, mixed with something absurd.
So, armed with this newfound “wisdom,” I went back to trying to make a few of my own again. This time, I aimed for stuff that was more relatable to my actual day-to-day grind, but with a twist.
One I came up with was a picture of a massively tangled bunch of cables with the caption: “Problem Solving.” Simple. To the point. Made me laugh because, well, it’s true sometimes.
Another one I found online that I really liked showed a coffee cup looking exhausted, and the text said: “I need a coffee to get coffee.” That one hit home.

The Grand Finale: Sticking Them Up
Alright, so I had a small collection. Some I made, some I found. Nothing was super professional looking, mind you. I just printed them on regular paper. No fancy frames, no lamination. Just good old tape.
Stuck ’em up around my desk. One with a picture of a sloth moving at glacial pace with “Don’t Rush Me” above it. Another with a slightly panicked looking squirrel and “It’s Fine. I’m Fine. Everything is Fine.”
And you know what? It actually worked. Not in a “rah rah go team” kind of way. But in a “okay, this is ridiculous, let’s just get through it with a smile” kind of way.
Seeing a silly poster when things are a bit hectic, it just lightens the mood. Makes the tough stuff feel a tiny bit less heavy.
So yeah, that was my little adventure into the world of humorous motivational posters. My workspace is definitely less dull now. And sometimes, a good laugh is the best motivation there is. Worth a try, I reckon.
