Okay, so, I’ve been seeing a lot about Perfect Diary lately, especially on Douyin – it’s like the Chinese TikTok, you know? It’s everywhere! This brand, Perfect Diary, popped up in 2017, and it’s from this company called Yatsen Holding. These guys started it in Guangdong, China. Anyway, I got curious and decided to give it a shot.
First off, I went to their website and then I poked around their Tmall shop. I was mostly looking at their makeup sets, ’cause who doesn’t love a good set? They had this “Reunion Gift Box” that was a limited edition thing for the New Year. It looked pretty fancy, with an eyeshadow palette and three liquid lipsticks. That got my attention.

First Look
Then I saw this other set, the “Woven Love Collection.” Man, the packaging was all white and red, super cute. I figured it would make a nice gift, you know? So, I added both to my cart. They had individual products too, like eyeshadow palettes, lip glosses and something they called “lip stains.” A lot to choose from!
I did a little digging because I heard some buzz about whether they’re cruelty-free or not. It seems like a bigger deal in Western countries. Their website didn’t say much, but I also did some digging with their customer service – mixed signals, to be honest.
Unboxing
When the package finally arrived, I was pretty excited! Unboxing time, baby! The packaging was pretty nice, I gotta say. They had these cool designs, like gold treasure cases and even love envelopes. Felt like I was getting a little treasure trove.
- Eyeshadow Palette: The colors were decent. I tried them on, and they blended okay. Not the best I’ve ever used, but not bad either.
- Liquid Lipsticks: These were… interesting. They felt a bit drying, but the colors were vibrant. I tried all three from the Reunion Gift Box. They lasted a while, but I definitely needed some lip balm after a few hours.
Trying Them Out
I wore the makeup out a few times. Got a few compliments on the eyeshadow, which was nice. The lipsticks, though, they were a bit of a mixed bag. Like I said, they looked good, but my lips felt kinda dry. I’ve used better, to be honest. A friend of mine is really into Chinese makeup, and she’s always talking about Perfect Diary and this other brand, Judydoll. She says they’re cheap and pretty good quality. Maybe I just need to get used to them?
They also had this collab with Sanrio – you know, Hello Kitty? I saw it on Shopee. They were offering a big discount, like 64% off! And I also saw they did something with Cardcaptor Sakura, the anime. It’s all about those collabs, I guess!
Overall, it was a fun experiment. Would I buy Perfect Diary again? Maybe. The eyeshadow palettes are worth a look, and the packaging is definitely a plus. The liquid lipsticks, I’m still on the fence about. Maybe I’ll try their other stuff, like that loose powder I saw. We’ll see. It’s not a bad brand, just maybe not totally my style, and I dont understand the hype, because I bought the product with my own money and this is not sponsored. This is just my honest review about Perfect Diary, hope you guys enjoy it!
