Alright, so a few days ago I decided to check out this spot called the Valley of Five Lakes. I’d heard good things, and it seemed like a nice little adventure. The place is just off the Icefields Parkway, which is pretty convenient. It’s like 10 kilometers south of Jasper, this town in Alberta, Canada. Easy peasy.
I got there and there was this big parking lot right at the trailhead. No problem finding a spot, which is always a good start, you know? I parked my car, grabbed my backpack, and hit the trail. It was a pretty straightforward path, nothing too crazy.

Walking along, I started to see why they call it the Valley of Five Lakes. The lakes were, I guess, the main attraction. Each one had its own vibe. One was all calm and peaceful, another had this cool, greenish tint to it. I took some photos, but honestly, pictures don’t really do it justice.
I spent a good few hours there, just wandering around, taking in the scenery. It was a great way to clear my head. Oh, and I also remembered that there were some pretty beaches around, but that’s more of a short drive away. The Valley of Five Lakes itself was more about the lakes and the trails, not really a beach day, haha.
- First Lake: This one was super calm. I sat down for a while and just enjoyed the quiet.
- Second Lake: Had a bit of a green color. Not sure why, but it looked cool.
- Third Lake: This was probably my favorite. Just felt really serene.
- Fourth Lake: More of the same, but each one still felt unique.
- Fifth Lake: By this point, I was just cruising along, enjoying the walk.
Reflection
In the end, I packed up and headed back to my car. It was a solid day out. If you’re ever in Jasper, I’d say it’s worth checking out the Valley of Five Lakes. It’s a chill spot to spend a few hours and get away from the noise for a bit.
