Why Are My Pores Large? Skincare Secrets to Make Them Smaller!

Posted on 17/01/202517/01/2025 by MediaMaestro

Okay, so I’ve been noticing something that’s been bugging me for a while now – my pores. They just seem so… big. Like, you could see them from a mile away. I know everyone has pores, but mine felt like they were taking over my face. So, I did what any normal person would do, I went on a mission to figure out what was going on and how to make them look smaller.

First, I started looking at my skin up close in the mirror. It was kind of gross, but I had to see what I was dealing with. I noticed that my pores were most noticeable on my nose and cheeks. They were like little craters, especially after I washed my face. Yuck.

Then I remembered my mom telling me that genetics can play a role in pore size. She said my grandma had large pores, too. Great, just what I wanted to hear. But I wasn’t going to give up that easily. I figured there had to be something I could do.

I started paying more attention to my skincare routine. I read somewhere that keeping your skin clean is important. So, I made sure to wash my face every morning and night. I also started using a gentle exfoliator a couple of times a week. I hoped that would help get rid of dead skin cells that might be clogging things up.

I also tried to be more careful about the products I used. I made sure everything was non-comedogenic, which basically means it won’t clog pores. I swapped out my heavy moisturizer for a lighter one, too. I figured that a lighter product would be better for keeping things clear.

Trying Some Home Remedies

  • Ice, ice, baby: I tried rubbing ice on my face. I heard it could help tighten things up. It felt nice and cold, but I didn’t notice much of a difference in my pores.
  • Egg white mask: I whipped up an egg white and put it on my face like a mask. It felt super weird and tight as it dried. Again, didn’t see much change in the pore department, and also, my skin got so dry.
  • Baking soda paste: This one was a bit messy. I mixed baking soda with water and applied it to my problem areas. It felt a little tingly. I didn’t see a huge difference, and it kind of irritated my skin, so I stopped using it.

After a few weeks of sticking to my new routine and trying these things, I did start to notice a slight improvement. My skin felt cleaner and maybe, just maybe, my pores looked a little less noticeable. But they were definitely still there. I realized that maybe large pores are just something I have to live with. It’s part of who I am, thanks to my grandma, I guess. But I’m going to keep up with my skincare routine because it makes my skin feel good overall. And hey, at least I tried, right?

So that’s my story about dealing with my large pores. It’s not a super exciting adventure, but it’s real life. And maybe someone out there can relate. If you’ve got any tips or tricks, feel free to share them! We’re all in this together, trying to figure out this whole skincare thing.
