So I spent a lot of time getting into this XFL helmets thing. It all started when I saw a post online about a “Las Vegas Outlaws XFL Bike Authentic Mini Helmet!!” and I thought, “What’s that?” It got me curious, so I did some digging.
First, I checked out some sports stores, you know, like Ochsner Sport. They have all kinds of sports gear, but I couldn’t find anything about XFL helmets there. No luck.

Then, I went to a website, it had a bunch of stuff for sale. I searched for “XFL Helmets” and found some listings, which was cool. I saw a “Full Size Football Helmet XFL Decal set” for 45 bucks. Not bad, I guess. There was also a “DC Defenders Full Size Replica Schutt XP Helmet” for 250 dollars! That’s pretty steep for a helmet, but I guess some people are really into it.
I also found this online shop called Royal Retros. They claim to be the “#1 fan shop for all officially licensed throwback XFL gear.” They had customized jerseys, t-shirts, hats, and more. Seemed like a good place for XFL fans, but I wasn’t quite sold yet.
Digging Deeper
I kept searching and stumbled upon a list of XFL helmets. It had stuff like the “Birmingham Bolts 2001 Riddell Speed Mini Football Helmet” for $41.99 and the “Chicago Enforcers 2001 Schutt Mini Football Helmet” for $46.99. These were mini helmets, not the full-size ones.
Then, I learned that the XFL brand was revived in 2020, but there are “no official factory helmets.” That’s kind of a bummer. It seems like the only helmets you can get are from the older XFL days or custom-made ones.
I read somewhere that the XFL’s look was gaining popularity, and the helmets are a big part of that. There was even a ranking of the helmets, and the New York Guardians came out on top. I guess they have a pretty cool design or something.
Finally, I came across this thing about “URL encoding,” which is apparently the opposite of URL encoding. It’s some technical stuff about converting encoded strings back to their original form. Seemed complicated, so I didn’t spend too much time on that.

So, that’s basically my journey into the world of XFL helmets. It was a wild ride, with lots of dead ends and some interesting finds. I’m still not sure if I’ll actually buy a helmet, but it was fun learning about them. Maybe I’ll just stick to watching the games.
